Its that crazy time of year – exams are finishing for those in VCE, University and TAFE and we’re all looking to the year ahead – fresh starts, new challenges and new opportunities.
The team at Blue Stockings is using 2012 to create a more sustainable, value adding organisation for the benefit of women pursuing education. In early 2012 we will undergo strategic planning to ensure that we have a greater community presence, stronger sponsorships with local organisations, better accessiblity to women in need and opportunities to network with people across the greater Gippsland region. We are excited to welcome our new President, Mrs Jahna Pulford – Careers Coordinator for Monash University, and our new Vice Chair Cr Lisa Price from Latrobe City Council! We’ve been blessed with a wonderful committee these past 5 years and are so excited for the opportunities and improvements 2012 will bring for all at Blue Stockings.
Our first mission – and a wonderful achievement for our subcommittees and volunteers – will be the introduction of our fully refurbished webpage. FINALLY we will be able to offer ONLINE applications for scholarships, a shopping cart facility for ticket purchasing to our events and more opportunities for sponsors and networks alike. If you have any suggestions for our brainstorming efforts moving forward, please feel free to post them below.
We wish all of our friends, sponsors, volunteers and our wonderful community a love-filled and happy Christmas, and all the very best for a fantastic 2012!
